    12.6 3-D decoder with optional "energy" or diametric opposites matrix, software crossovers, and distance compensation delays.

    Speaker layout for 12.6 system in Meany Hall


    Speaker layout, both jpg and psd. Note ideal locations vs. actual locations. Speakers were moved for obstruction reasons as well as the lower laterals shifted for the "push/pull" decoder so the upper laterals and lower laterals are pointed at each other through the sweet spot. This shift need not happen in a 2-D arrangement (only the lower rig). Power is also indicated to avoid buzz and aisle obstructions.

    Special cables needed for routing

    All routing happens via TDIF (Mixer > RME converters), ADAT (RME converters > Apogee DA converters), then analog XLR out from the breakouts from the Apogee DA16X or Rosetta to the speakers.

    For independent fader control of the subs:
    This requires routing the sub channels from the Behringer crossovers into the analog ins on the Rosetta, out to the mixer via ADAT, [into the mixer via group-able channels, routed to busses, busses routed to ADAT out], back to the Rosetta via ADAT and and our the analog outs to the subs.

    Special cables needed for routing (with crossovers)

    - 3x TDIF cables (should be long); we also need backups
    - 4x ADAT cables (3 short, one long)
    - 2x XLR breakouts (1x12 chan for DA-16X to crossovers, 1x6 chan for crossovers to Apogee Rosetta; current setup is 2x8 channels)
    - 6x word clock
    - 1x long Firewire (computer to Tascam)
